Sirius Energy Is Here — What you need to know about the Lionsgate Portal and 8/8 activation...

A Portal? Are there actual Lions??? SO MAGICKAL!

If you follow any spiritual site or page, there is a lot of talk leading up to the 8th about the Lionsgate Portal. Many of them will say that this is the day that changes your life. Will it? Maybe… but that all depends on you. What have you done leading up to the portal activating? What have you been avoiding? How your life shapes up is literally a direct result of the work you put in. I know, not a very magical thing to say, but it is the truth of it. In Witchcraft we call it spellwork. Spiritualists call it manifestation.  Mystics call it co-creation.  Scientists call it focused intention. Psychologists call it a mindset.  Christians call it active prayer… but it is all the same concepts.  Energy directed with intentionality and a knowing or a belief. The result is wholly dependent on how you show up.

But no, there is no magical, floating portal opening up in the sky, there are no lions flooding the earth, roaming around like a gang of hooligans in Boston circa 1987… it’s just a day, rooted in astronomy, adopted by modern spiritualists and blown up by social media.

So, what is this portal, exactly?

First, the name. This time gets its name from a blend of a couple of things...

• Leo Season (astrological) - ruled by the sun, symbolized by the Lion

• Gate, Portal: a window of opportunity, has a beginning and ending tied to higher frequencies, and spiritual awakenings

To get more on the scientific side of things, it’s not an official astronomical happening (like an eclipse, for instance), but there are definitely things happening in the sky... sometimes (lol). Sirius - the brightest star in our sky - rises in alignment with the Sun. The term for this is called a heliacal rising, when a star becomes visible to us right before the sun rises after being hidden because of the sun’s glare. At this time, it’s also in alignment with Orion’s Belt (we all know that part of Orion’s constellation) but it's vertical, not horizontal, and this isn't every year because of the changes in solar calendars. While this does not open a literal portal, Ancient Egyptians believed Sirius’s rising as a sign from the Gods that the Nile would flood… and flooding in the Nile meant abundance, fertility and new life for the region.

This occurs annually, but the actual rising of Sirius depends on multiple things (location, solar calendar, etc) but the annual window is usually between July 23rd - Aug 12th… just like everything else that happens up there in our vast universe. In Ancient Egypt, Sirius rose around the 26th of July and marked the beginning of their flood season. However, the 8th of August tends to be the peak of the season… and that’s when modern spiritual practices step in. Spiritualists, astrologers, and the WooWoo adjacent designated August 8th as the Lionsgate Portal activation because it ties into a legit thing, it is the peak-ish, but most of all, because of the symbolism and power of the double 8.

The Energy of Sirius

·       Sirius = “Spiritual Sun”

→ associated with ascended knowledge, ancient wisdom, and the awakening of dormant soul codes.

→ help humans move from 3D awareness (ego, survival) to 5D consciousness (unity, love, purpose)

·       Unlike solar (Sun) energy which is masculine and action-driven, Sirius energy is more heart-centered, sacred, and Divine Feminine in tone.

·       Believed to upgrade our DNA and open psychic channels within us.

Numerology of 8

            The number 8 is a powerful number that tells a story more than any other number.  8 first and foremost represents balance - look at those little circles sitting on top of one another, just balanced. Nothing is rolling around out of place, it's just... sitting there, an endless flow, coming and going, completely in alignment. In WooWoo life we take it to Spirit: AS ABOVE, SO BELOW • AS WITHIN, SO WITHOUT • AS THE UNIVERSE, SO THE SOUL. If you are not familiar with any of those, the full quote comes from the Emerald Tablets which are a foundational text from the ancient Egyptian - Greek systems of spiritual thought and beliefs.  The full quote is:

“That which is above is like that which is below, and that which is below is like that which is above, to accomplish the miracles of the One Thing”. 

The macro affects the micro (think of how the moon affects the tides and women's menstrual cycles... or how barometric pressure can affect oxygen levels in a person's body and trigger headaches, arthritic or nerve pain). What is happening around us is GOING to affect us, no matter what.

It also means what is happening within you, you are experiencing in your outer world. The Law of Resonance (yes, there is that concept again) or similarly the Law of Attraction. If there is chaos in your mind, you will attract chaos in your day-to-day. If you are present and cultivate peace in your mind, that will also ripple out from your energetic field and you will attract more peaceful people and situations. You will literally repel those who are not in resonance with you when they get too close.

And lastly, there is no hard separation between the Universe, our Divine Creator and ourselves. We are composed of the same minerals as the stars and planets, our physical systems are the same as those in nature (I know you've seen this before). Everything and everyone is connected.

But back to the number eight. Eight is the number of mastery. It governs ambition, karmic lessons, and confidence. It also houses leadership, authority, discipline and power, a strength through structure... the energy of ambition, financial success and building empires. But this is not building empires in the sense of that old, rigid, outdated capricorn energy... this is meant to be done ethically with heart-centered purpose. This is done knowing that there is enough for everyone... and greed throws off balance.

Eight is also the balance between the spiritual and physical realm... when you focus on being present and mastering your physical self, you will bring your spiritual/higher self into alignment. This is where you get familiar and cozy with calling in all the things that are meant for you. Manifestation, alignment, abundance, amplification, infinite possibilities... this is the energy of 8.

Working with the Lionsgate Energy

So, while I am late to the party getting this up for 2025, keep this bookmarked for all the Lionsgate Portals to come.

If you plan to do something for the 8/8 portal, you really should begin shifting your focus and setting your intentions starting after July 23rd. This is a great opportunity to look at where you currently are in your journey. Are you still hanging onto people or things in your past? Are you worried about the future? How much are you living in the present and moving intentionally? What do you need to release in order to make room for the new, for the abundance and prosperity waiting for you to attune to?

Manifestation / Co-Creation:

You want to begin aligning your thoughts and emotions to call in the things you are looking to invite into your life. Do not get tripped up on saying things like "I wish" or "I hope"... those leave little cracks, spaces for doubt to seep in. Be confident that whatever it is you are aligning with is ALREADY there, waiting. You just need to turn on that beacon to attract it. You are a lighthouse. Call in that ship to you, let it see the way.

Journaling is a good way to do this. Everything starts with a thought. It becomes a reality when you write it and speak it. Revisit what you journal often when you are working on calling something in to your life or releasing. It keeps your mind focused on what you are working toward achieving and helps form a boundary for those things not in alignment with your goal.

Energy work, such as reiki or sound baths, are great tools for clearing out old stagnant energies and neutralizing our aura to allow us to program what we working toward in our energetic signature & frequencies.

Crystals:

Some of my favourite crystals for working with calling in abundance and working with that fire Leo energy are citrine, sunstone, pyrite and peridot. My favourite runner up in this would be carnelian because it really focuses on your root and sacral chakras and encompasses that life force energy.

To incorporate and call in wisdom and attune to higher consciousness, I work with Lapis Lazuli, Apatite, Celestite and Angelite. Some people would insist moldavite be in here, but I personally am not a fan. Most moldavite on the market is just green glass or another tektite that is from someplace else and people call it moldavite. It's not the powerhouse TikTok makes it out to be... but that is just my very unpopular opinion.

Whenever you want to work toward programming a new mindset and attuning to a new frequency, you want to focus on heart activation! Why? because your heart is the seat of your personal magnetism. Your heart creates the strongest electromagnetic field in the whole body. When your heart is open and activated, you are aligned, emotionally clear and you become an even stronger magnet for drawing in what aligns with your soul's purpose. Green and pink stones - like green aventurine, malachite, rose quartz, rose calcite, rhodonite and chrysoprase - are all great crystal choices for this.

I also really like Prophecy Stones paired with Inner Mongolian Quartz in the initial phases when I am releasing and clearing old energies and ideas and beliefs. And at any given time in any ritual you are undertaking HAVE SOME CLEAR QUARTZ. This is an amplifier and is so underrated. Don't worry... I'll be doing some crystal blogs here soon enough.

Colours:

• Gold – divine radiance, abundance, solar energy

• Royal Blue – Sirius energy, throat/third eye activation

• Emerald Green – heart healing and truth

• Purple/Violet – spiritual awakening and soul alignment

Deities:

Not everyone works with deities. But if you are looking to call in the energy and aspects of a deity for your 8/8 portal ritual, these are some of the most common to work with in my experience. I also like to work with Hades during beginning weeks, to help me ground and release while working through shadow work.

• Ishtar/Inanna – gateway descent and return, divine sovereignty

• Apollo – light, clarity, prophecy

Herbs and Incense:

If you choose to do a ritual, I would stick to herbs and incense that are associated with abundance and attraction.

• Frankincense – spiritual purification

• Cinnamon – passion, success, fiery energy

• Rose or Rosewood – heart expansion

• Bay Leaf – wish magic, manifestation

• Marigold – solar offering, attraction

• Lemongrass – clearing stagnation, refreshing energy

So to finish this out... I recap this with all confidence - lionsgate portal is not just one day... it's a window of opportunity to pivot. A time to release and to call in where you are ready to be next in your journey. The 8/8 date is a good time for any rituals to call in wealth, success and abundance because it is a Power Day in numerology. But when it comes down to it, you don't need a special day on a calendar to make changes. Any day is the right day to make a change. You are the catalyst, not a calendar, and not an astronomical movement.
